The Production Manager leads the shop floor operation during the plant start-up, ensuring execution of the production plan, stabilization of processes, validation of capacities, and development of the operational workforce. The role focuses on operational execution, line commissioning, and establishing production discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead supervisors, line leaders, and operators throughout the ramp-up phase.
- Ensure execution of the production schedule provided by Production Control.
- Validate actual capacities, cycle times, machine loads, and line balancing.
- Manage resources: personnel, machinery, tools, and materials on the shop floor.
- Monitor efficiency, productivity, scrap, downtime, and bottlenecks.
- Implement operational standards, work methods, and shop floor discipline.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety rules, and procedures.
- Coordinate corrective actions for operational deviations.
- Participate in process trials, line commissioning, and parameter stabilization.
- Prepare operational KPIs: efficiency, OEE, scrap, downtime, productivity.
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Production Control to resolve shop floor issues.
- Train and develop the operational team in new processes and production standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- +8 years of experience in manufacturing operations and team leadership.
- Proven experience in plant start-up, ramp-up, or line commissioning.
- Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, cycle times, line balancing, and industrial safety.
- Experience with Lean, Kaizen, TPM, OEE.
- Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
