About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented General Accountant to join a fast-growing US-based tech company that builds transaction protection products for e-commerce businesses.
In this 100% remote role, you will be a foundational part of the Finance team, supporting both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). This is a fantastic opportunity for an early-career professional to build a strong foundation across the full transaction cycle—from vendor payments to customer collections—while gaining hands-on exposure to month-end close processes in a fast-paced environment.
What You Will Do
- Accounts Payable (AP): Process vendor invoices accurately, prepare weekly payment runs (ACH, wire, check), review employee expense reports, and maintain W-9s/1099 documentation.
- Accounts Receivable (AR): Apply incoming cash receipts, reconcile customer accounts, monitor aging reports, support collections, and resolve billing inquiries.
- General Accounting & Month-End Close: Support month/quarter-end close activities by preparing journal entries, calculating accruals, and completing balance sheet reconciliations for cash, AP, and AR accounts.
- Process Improvement: Identify and recommend opportunities to automate and streamline AP/AR workflows.
What We Are Looking For
- Language: Advanced English (Strictly required for corresponding professionally with US-based vendors, customers, and internal teams).
- Experience: 0-2 years of relevant accounting experience (internship or coursework in AP/AR is a big plus).
- Accounting Knowledge: Basic but solid understanding of US GAAP and double-entry accounting principles.
- Tech Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic formulas).
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, proactive mindset, and the ability to manage deadlines in a remote environment.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to accounting software and ERPs (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks).
- Familiarity with expense management platforms (e.g., Brex, Expensify, Ramp, Concur).
- Previous experience working in a tech startup or high-growth company.
