The Sr Manager, Manufacturing Operations Engineering, leads and develops engineering teams to ensure the organization has the technical capabilities required to meet current and future business needs. This role drives strategic alignment between engineering and business objectives, while fostering innovation, operational excellence, and talent development across the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate engineering activities across multiple teams, disciplines, or locations to ensure alignment with business priorities.
- Build and develop high-performing engineering teams through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
- Develop and execute engineering strategies, including technology roadmaps, to close capability gaps and support future growth.
- Manage department budgets, forecasts, and resource planning to achieve financial and operational targets.
- Drive innovation and knowledge capture, fostering a culture that values continuous improvement and learning (LPD mindset).
- Identify industry trends, emerging technologies, and process improvements to enhance competitiveness and operational performance.
- Provide technical and strategic insights to senior leadership, supporting decision-making and long-term planning.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, quality, supply chain, and commercial teams to support customer needs and business objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; master’s degree (MS/MBA) preferred
- 10+ years of experience in engineering roles, including leadership responsibility
- Proven experience managing technical teams and complex projects
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments preferred
