Job description:
Legal Disbursement Coordinator
Scott Vicknair Injury Lawyers | Monterrey, Mexico
Where Hospitality Meets the Law
At Scott Vicknair, we don't think of ourselves as a "law firm" in the cold, corporate sense. We think of ourselves as a team that shows up for people on some of the hardest days of their lives — and treats them the way we'd want our own family treated. That's not a tagline. It's how we hire, how we train, and how we measure whether we're doing our job right.
We're looking for a Legal Disbursement Coordinator who wants to be at the center of that mission. This isn't simply an administrative role. It's a position where your organization, attention to detail, and follow-through help ensure that liens are properly handled, providers are communicated with, and clients receive their settlement funds accurately and efficiently.
If you're organized, detail-oriented, comfortable communicating with multiple parties, and energized by solving problems and getting the details right, we want to talk to you.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
- Send letters of representation to all lien holders
- Obtain W-9s from medical providers and lien holders
- Gather relevant information and documentation from a variety of sources
- Obtain and confirm final bills and balances from lien holders
- Send negotiation letters to medical providers and lien holders
- Communicate with medical providers and lien holders throughout the lien resolution process
- Assist with clearing liens and resolving outstanding balances
- Assist with Medicaid, Medicare, and private health insurance subrogation
- Communicate with clients regarding the status of liens and the settlement disbursement process
- Liaise between attorneys, clients, medical providers, and lien holders
- Perform administrative duties related to settlement disbursement and lien resolution
- Maintain organized and accurate records throughout the process
- Track outstanding requests, documents, and deadlines to ensure nothing falls through the cracks
Who Thrives Here
- You genuinely like helping people and understand that even the smallest task can have an impact on someone's case
- You're the type who double-checks the details because you know missing information can create bigger problems later
- You're organized and able to manage multiple requests, deadlines, and priorities without losing track of the details
- You take ownership. If a medical record hasn't come in or a request needs follow-up, you don't wait to be reminded — you handle it
- You communicate clearly, professionally, and consistently with team members and outside providers
- You're comfortable working independently while also being a strong team player
- You understand the importance of confidentiality when handling sensitive client information
- You have prior experience in legal or administrative support, preferably in personal injury or a medical-related field
- You're comfortable learning and using case management software and office technology
- You are bilingual in English and Spanish
- You're able to work in person at our office in Monterrey, Mexico
Why Team Members Stay
- A culture that actually backs its words up. We hold each other accountable, we place client interests above our own, and we mean it — ask anyone on our team.
- Real growth, real advancement. We're expanding across South Louisiana, and we promote from within whenever we can.
- Benefits that support your life. Medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
- A New Orleans firm, through and through. We show up for our community — from Project Backpack to teacher scholarships — because giving back is part of who we are, not a marketing line.
- You'll never wonder if your work matters. Settlement disbursement is one of the final steps in a client's case, and getting it right matters. Your work helps ensure clients receive what they're entitled to while providers and lien holders are properly addressed. We take that responsibility seriously.
Our Core Values (What We Actually Live By)
- We always fight for the win.
- We do the right thing and hold each other accountable.
- We deliver an exceptional, hospitality-driven client experience.
- We respect others and lead with professionalism.
- We always place our client's interests before our own.
- We stay consistent and focused on solutions — for our clients and for each other.
Ready to be part of a team that fights for the win — with heart? Apply today and let's talk about how you can make an impact at Scott Vicknair Injury Lawyers.
