The Production Control Manager is responsible for establishing, structuring, and controlling all planning, scheduling, and production tracking processes during the plant start-up. The role focuses on building the production control system, ensuring material availability, defining production flows, and guaranteeing that the production plan is stable, feasible, and aligned with ramp-up requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement production planning, scheduling, and control processes from the ground up.
- Develop the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and weekly/daily production programs.
- Configure and validate BOMs, routings, production parameters, and work order structures in the ERP.
- Release, update, and close production orders ensuring full traceability.
- Monitor WIP, scrap, deviations, and flow stability during ramp-up.
- Coordinate material availability with Purchasing, Warehouse, Logistics, and Import/Export teams.
- Manage critical shortages and risks impacting line start-up.
- Reschedule production in response to failures, engineering changes, process trials, or urgent needs.
- Establish baseline KPIs: schedule adherence, internal OTD, WIP levels, backorders.
- Implement standards, procedures, and operational discipline for production control.
- Lead daily start-up meetings and ramp-up follow-up sessions.
- Support capacity validation, cycle time confirmation, and machine load analysis.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance to ensure the plan is executable.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Production, Logistics, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or production control.
- Proven experience in plant start-up or new line launches.
- Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP, MPS, BOMs, routings, WIP control.
- Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing and flow management.
- Strong analytical skills, organization, and ability to manage priorities.
- Leadership focused on cross-functional coordination and process establishment.
