The NPI Quality Engineer is responsible to ensure the correct processing, assembly and validation of new products, as well as their documentation and to look for the prevention of quality problems. It is to ensure quality first time from the design process and first parts and release to production with the highest level of quality according to customer specifications. Responsible to get Customer approval for PPAP on New product Introductions.
Responsibilities
- Manage Quality Integration deliverables for new product introductions.
- Utilize quality tools and practices to identify, communicate and mitigate risks to product quality and first pass yield.
- Monitor and facilitate quality activities for part approval, verify manufacturing processes (control plans, assembly instructions) and confirm process capability.
- Investigate product quality problems, determine root cause, gather and analyze data and implement corrective action to reduce or eliminate waste resulting from non-conformances, scrap or clams reported by Customers
- Facilitate and write quality procedures for the purpose of maintaining/updating the factory quality system and support quality system audits, review results with audit team, and participate in management review meetings.
- Develops sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Develops and applies methods and procedures for the removal of discrepant material and devises methods for assessing cost and accountability.
- Ensures the availability and integrity of all quality related data. Consolidates and reports quality results.
- Internal and customer communication.
- PPAP creation and product release to production environment.
Requirements:
- Bilingual English/Spaish
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology, Business Management or closely related discipline.
- +5 years of experience in manufacturing or quality engineering of electronic assemblies with new product introductions (NPI/PDP).
- Demonstrated experience in core tools and problem solving.
- Knowledge on Electronics components and PCBA.
- Strong Knowledge about APQP Process
