We are seeking an experienced Automotive Paint Process Specialist to provide on-site technical support at customer manufacturing facilities, ensuring optimal paint system performance and resolving issues related to paint application, finish quality, and overall process performance.
This role will be responsible for diagnosing process deviations, implementing corrective actions, and working closely with customers and internal teams to optimize automotive painting processes.
- Provide on-site technical support to automotive customers.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to automotive paint application processes on production lines.
- Analyze paint defects such as runs, orange peel, craters, poor coverage, adhesion failures, contamination, and other appearance-related issues.
- Monitor and optimize paint application parameters to ensure high-quality finishes.
- Support and monitor the performance of paint products, pretreatment systems, and electrocoat (E-coat) processes during production.
- Participate in application trials, production launches, process validations, and new product introductions.
- Work closely with customers to identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Prepare technical reports and present findings to customers and internal teams.
- Coordinate problem-solving activities with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Commercial teams.
- Train customers on best practices for paint application and process control.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in automotive paint processes.
- Extensive knowledge of:
- Automotive paint application processes.
- Pretreatment and electrocoat (E-coat) systems.
- Paint booths and curing ovens.
- Paint application parameters.
- Troubleshooting and process optimization in production environments.
- Paint defect analysis and corrective actions.
- Proven experience providing on-site technical support to automotive customers.
- Availability to travel extensively.
- Advanced English proficiency.
- Valid visa and passport.
- Experience working with automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers.
- Experience supporting new product launches and process changes.
- Proficiency with structured problem-solving methodologies, including 8D, Ishikawa (Fishbone), 5 Whys, and FMEA.
