The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing production schedules to ensure on-time delivery, efficient use of resources, and balanced production capacity. This role works closely with Production, Planning, Procurement, Warehouse, Customer Service, and Engineering to align manufacturing activities with customer demand while minimizing delays and inventory.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer demand, capacity, material availability, and business priorities.
- Coordinate production plans with manufacturing, procurement, warehouse, and customer service teams.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to address changes in demand, material shortages, equipment downtime, or other operational constraints.
- Ensure materials, components, and resources are available to support scheduled production.
- Analyze production capacity and recommend schedule adjustments to maximize efficiency and utilization.
- Track production performance, schedule adherence, and on-time delivery metrics.
- Collaborate with purchasing to identify and resolve material shortages.
- Maintain accurate planning data, production orders, and ERP system information.
- Support inventory optimization by balancing production requirements with inventory levels.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy and manufacturing efficiency.
- Prepare reports and communicate production status, risks, and recovery plans to management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, manufacturing planning, or supply chain.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of production planning, capacity planning, inventory control, and material flow.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Advanced English proficiency
