Procurement Analyst – Transportation | Guadalajara

We are looking for a Procurement Analyst – Transportation to support our transportation sourcing strategy, supplier management, cost analysis, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard land transportation suppliers, including FTL, LTL, drayage, dedicated fleet, and specialized transportation providers.
- Analyze transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction, route optimization, and network efficiency.
- Monitor market trends, fuel price fluctuations, transportation regulations, capacity, and other factors that may impact transportation costs and availability.
- Prepare benchmarking analyses comparing supplier rates, transit times, service levels, and operational capabilities.
- Maintain supplier databases, rate sheets, contracts, and commercial agreements.
- Monitor purchase orders, transportation spend, and budget compliance.
- Track supplier performance through KPIs such as:
- On-Time Pickup
- On-Time Delivery
- Cost Competitiveness
- Claims Ratio
- Capacity Fulfillment
- Response Time
- Support negotiations and commercial evaluations with transportation providers.
- Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen procurement efficiency, supplier visibility, and cost control.
- Support the resolution of transportation issues, including service disruptions, claims, detention, demurrage, and accessorial charges.
- Follow up on supplier compliance with contractual obligations, insurance requirements, safety standards, and operational procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Business, Business Administration, Transportation, or a related field.
- Previous experience in transportation procurement, logistics sourcing, carrier management, freight forwarding, 3PL, or supply chain operations.
- Knowledge of land transportation operations and supplier management.
- Understanding of transportation rates, cost structures, benchmarking, and commercial agreements.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work with operational and financial information.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to monitor supplier KPIs and identify performance or cost deviations.
- Strong organization, follow-up, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with multiple suppliers and internal stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- English proficiency for business communication is highly desirable.
