We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Trading Application Support Engineer to join our team.
The Trading Application Support Engineer will provide critical technical support to the trading desk and back-office operations specializing in bond/loan trading. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial instruments, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. The ideal person should possess strong communication skills and have the personality to effectively engage with traders, portfolio managers, and operations. They should be a natural team player, able to collaborate seamlessly to understand and meet requirements. The support engineer should be able to connect the dots and be proactive toward improving the day-to-day support function. The candidate must have excellent programming and data management skills, strong verbal/written communication skills, and be a cultural fit with an emphasis on teamwork, excellence and results.
Responsibilities

Deliver timely day-to-day technical support for the trading platform and Business-to-Business integrations

Engage with business users such as traders, portfolio managers, operations, analysts, and finance/compliance professionals to conduct requirements analysis, application design, and implementation

Uphold a high standard of the software development lifecycle with a strong emphasis on automated testing and regression practices

Create and maintain a professional-level internal knowledge base to support ongoing operations and knowledge sharing

Deliver training sessions for business users and onboard new joiners to ensure smooth adoption of tools and processes

Contribute to and reinforce the team's culture, overall vision, and mission
Requirements
-
At least 3 years of professional relevant experience, or equivalent work experience in the financial industry, with a solid understanding of, or strong potential to quickly pick up, financial securities, particularly bonds and loans

Strong hands-on track record with SQL Server T-SQL for querying, scripting, and data management tasks

Practical experience working with Microsoft SQL Server for supporting and maintaining trading-related databases

Proven experience with Python programming for automation, scripting, and integration purposes
-
Demonstrated ability to maintain and integrate new work into existing codebases while preserving stability and quality

Working knowledge of Linux, including commands, diagnostics, and resolving system issues
-
Familiarity with GitHub and GitHub Actions for source control management and CI/CD workflows

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail

Strong cultural fit demonstrated through teamwork, a proactive and self-starter mindset, a results-oriented approach, and integrity

Fluent English communication skills at a B2 level or higher, both written and verbal
Nice to have

Prior experience with Everest is strongly desired, though not a strict requirement

Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) for data integration and reporting

Experience working with XML, XPath, and XSLT for data transformation and structured data handling

Exposure to trading systems such as BlackRock Aladdin or Charles River

Experience with portfolio accounting systems, such as Geneva

Hands-on knowledge of job scheduling tools, including ActiveBatch, Control-M, or Autosys

Understanding of HTTP protocols and web API design principles
