The New Product Introduction Engineer is responsible as part of the Product Engineering team; you will have responsibility for meeting business performance commitments to key stakeholders. This includes overall responsibility and accountability for all aspects of NPI projects assigned following the NPI process, product design, and process design.
Responsibilities
- Play a key role and may coordinate with multiple teams in the New Product Development Process as it is related to Manufacturing.
- Analyze & evaluate DFM, manufacturing methods and standards. Provides solutions to problems that adversely affect operator safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
- Provide technical support to both internal and external customers. Analyze all problems that occurred during NPI, execute the corrective action and preventive action (CAPA) together with related department.
- Create CAPEX and follow until final approval for new lines and or equipment.
- Process purchase requisitions and records as required.
- Identify areas of unnecessary cost. Research methods and procedures for cost reduction, work cell development and material flow improvement.
- Interact with SAP in validating BOMs (Bills of materials)
- Develop & update product specification, process documentation, PFD, PFMEA, and instruction (WI for assembly, test, etc.).
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or related field.
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Knowledge on Electronics components and PCBA.
- Knowledge in SMT process.
- Knowledge about APQP Process
- Strong knowledge in IPC-A-610 and basic knowledge of IATF-16949.
- 3-5 Years of experience in similar roles.
- Experience in a high mix manufacturing environment.
