AutoZone is a great company to start a career with, with concessions.
AutoZone is a great company to start a career with. Management positions in the store can pay decent. Store management positions can make work/life balance difficult depending on upper management expectations. Strong culture, for better or worse. Salary positions pay well, depending on your qualifications, but often require more than the 50hr minimum scheduling requirement. Few paid holidays, no sick pay, and "use it or lose it" policy on earned vacation time. Benefits are way too expensive for what is covered. No retirement plan, pension, or decent 401k matching plan. You could work for this company for 30+ years and have nothing to show your time invested. Best advice, invest in yourself. Stock options are very good, and AZO stock continues to climb. This is a very good option. AutoZone specializes in Auto Parts, but generally lack in the knowledge area. They hire cheap people, in part-time only positions, in hopes to cut on payroll costs. Not a direction I believe in. Employee retention and turnover is on a downward trend because of this. Offer your best people full-time and keep them with the company is a better option. Some management can be very pushy with sales. This can drive an environment of uneducated, uninformed AutoZoners which lie to customers to secure an add-on sale. Uneducated upper management encourage salesmanship, even if they don't know how things work. Their expectation to hit numbers for the sake of hitting numbers can be frustrating. My advice,
VentajasFun and challenging
